I have it. The Best. Chex. Mix. Recipe.

I promise.

This recipe has been a family tradition since we were kids, and still is today for my kiddos. Its super easy and EVERYONE is a fan. We freeze a couple bags and it serves family, friends, guests, and gift recipients all season long. And is always welcomed.

I hope you all enjoy like we do!

1/2 c. Butter or Margarine
1 1/2 tsp. Seasoned Salt
4 1/2 tsp. Worchestershire Sauce
Sprinkle of Garlic Powder to taste
2 c. Corn Chex
2 c. Rice Chex
2 c. Wheat Chex
1 c. Cheerios
1 c. Pretzel Sticks
1 c. Mixed Nuts
1 c. Mix Cereal

Heat margarine at 250° in shallow roasting pan until melted. Remove and stir in seasoned salt and worchestershire sauce. Add cereal and nuts. Mix until all pieces are coated. Heat in oven 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Spread to cool.

Best part is, it doubles well! Make a double batch and use a large pan. Easy!

Let me know what you think!

DIY Wreath

January 7, 2016 at 11:41 am (Projects) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Winter makes me a little stir crazy. Luckily Pinterest has many many cures for that! Enter my new wreath project. Bonus: I love a project that has quick and easy payoff! 😉

I picked up a wire wreath form at Joann craft store for a few dollars. I also grabbed a remnant of burgundy fabric and a pack of colored leaf print fabric squares. I cut tons and tons and tons of fabric strips about 5 inches long. Then I tied the oodles of strips in knots around the wire wreath form.  I also added some strips of burlap to give a rustic look. Simple.

Here is a close up of my strips of fabric.

I also painted a wood letter T to hang in the center if I choose.

And for the winter season I hung a seasons greetings basket in the center that I already had. Cute, no? 🙂

Easter!

April 10, 2012 at 10:15 am (Seasonal Decor) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! We sure did here. We had a small family dinner at our house and then did some yard work. Very festive, I know. I thought I would share with you our Easter table!

Notice anything different? How about that table? Yes, I finally tried the Restore on it! It worked so well, I think I’m in love! It did not removed the weird patterned spot, so the table is still not perfect, and probably never will be. But, it is so much better! The Restore really does a great job on scratches and scuffs. Anyways, how about the Easter setting? Jeremy even helped to decorate some eggs! I blew out real eggs so that we can save them for next year!

Here is one of Jeremy and I:

What did you all do for the holiday? 🙂

Christmas Decor For 2009

December 17, 2009 at 11:59 am (Seasonal Decor) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

This year’s Christmas decor at our house is looking pretty similar to last year.  But, I did add one project, which didn’t turn out quite as planned, so I need all of your help!

Here is our tree, similar to last year, but always fun!

Here is the feather boa wreath- also always fun!

And the new project for the year was clear ornaments with the blue and peacock feathers in them for the table.  (Very cute when Rachel Ray did it!) My problem is that the ornaments were too large to fit more than a few in the cake stand.  Also, the feather look a bit blah to me.  What do you all think?  Hunt down smaller ornaments?  Different feathers?  New vase/plate?  Hmm…

Let me know what you think!

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

December 12, 2008 at 7:53 pm (Seasonal Decor) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

We have our tree up!  White with blue and silver ornaments.  No, Tony, it is NOT Cowboys colors (Go Bears!).  It looks so warm and Christmas-y in our house now.  I also hung the wreath on the door.

Our tree! The presents even match!

The wreath. I made this with a foam wreath and 2 boas. Then pinned tiny ornaments to it. My mom's idea, I can't take credit.
