Leather Chair Love
I love the warm leather in this fall season. Perfect.
Fun Chair Love
Hi, all! Wow, have things been busy around here. Wedding is 45 days away! But, while I had a moment away from wedding projects I thought I would share some fun chairs that I absolutely adore!
Anything turquoise, especially in leather…mmm…
This room is a little too silver and modern for me normally, but this curvy chair done in a patchwork of prints is just awesome!
I love this dark walled room and even more love this zebra chair!
I have no words for how cool this chair is… AND, I can’t read all of the post, but this one was definitely a very neat DIY, so go check out the site!
Hope you enjoyed as much as I did! Updates coming soon!
Dining Chair Love
I love the rings on the backs of these chairs! I love the leather! I love the studs! I love the chandelier and the wall color and…
Beautiful, no? 🙂
Downsizing the Antiques
My obsession with vintage furniture grows and my house feels like it is shrinking. So… some items must find a new home! I thought I would list a few things here and there on here for you to all check out. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
1. Two vintage metal lawn chairs and matching table. So adorable! SOLD!
2. Vintage tin top cabinet. We used this as our kitchen island. This isn’t the best photo, but it also has lots of charm! SOLD!
3. Vintage Danish modern chair.
Old Chair Becomes New Chair Love
About a year ago I was given this kind of ugly old chair by a friend who knew I had a thing for chairs and also a thing for redoing ugly vintage pieces. The chair sat in my garage just waiting for me to be inspired. And finally… I have a new dining chair!
Here is the funky chair before:
This baby was probably gorgeous is its day, but the orange had to go. And the finish on the wood had also seen better days. So, I got to work. I first unscrewed the cushion from the chair from underneath. Then I had to pry off about a million staples. But, this step proved to be quite inspiring. You see, I am a beginner reupholster-er. This chair gave me a bit of creative insight. Once I started prying off the staples I realized that not only was the fabric cover itself tacked down, but also the piping around the bottom of the cushion was a separate piece. This was a strip of fabric folded in half and stapled around the edge. Easy!
Here is a look at the cushion and staples. You can also see the strip of piping.
And here is my new dining chair, including my take on this simple piping idea!
I love how the piping contrasts with the leather fabric. The color ties in with the dining room so well. And here’s the new beauty in its place at the dining table:
The fabric on the table is another project to be coming soon! I am working on a fun table runner to brighten the place up for summer!
Some Kitchen Inspiration
I ran accross this awesomely unique idea on Apartment Therapy today.
Isn’t this a gorgeous idea?! I feel inspired to do something similar when I get around to the kitchen…

Mom’s Dining Chairs
One of my many recent projects is refinishing my mom’s dining room chairs. And yes, I am finished with this one!
Mom has gorgeous antique wood dining chairs. But, the cushions were reupholstered many years ago, and are now raggedy and faded. So, we bought so printed leather and I set to work.
Here is one chair before:
And the after:
This was super quick and easy… and my first experience with powertools, my new staple gun! 🙂
Chair Love
No, I did not disappear again! Just so many changes are in the works, and I have been BUSY! I will have many many updates soon!
For now, here is the weekly chair love:
I’m a sucker for acrylic chairs. And vintage leather cushion. Love.
Mason Chair
Tony knows me well. The other day he sent me a message and said he had a surprise for me that I was really going to love. Aw. Yup, he was right. He pulled in the driveway with a chair in the back of his truck! Tony is in the Masonic Lodge and they are updating and selling off some of their old chairs. So, he nabbed one. He picked the oldest (see, he does know me well!). It even has straps underneath holding old straw stuffing in!
The leather seat is in bad shape, so we plan to refurbish it. I would love to find some old, worn looking leather for the replacement (if you know where I can accomplish this please let me know!). We would really like to keep the nostalgia of the chair, so are trying to keep it similar to its original look. Currently Tony has set up camp for the new chair at the head of the table 🙂
Now, where to find pre-worn leather pieces!??
Funky Chair Love
I loved this picture when I saw it. I’m not sure why, but I did. I wouldn’t want a chair (seat) like this in my house exactly, but still, it’s charming!
