Chicken Spaghetti Casserole
If you know me at all, you know I’m no cook. It’s never been something I enjoy to do, so I have never gotten much better than “able to keep my kids alive” level. 🤣
But, I have a few recipes up my sleeve that make it seem like I know what I’m doing just a little. This is a family favorite. So easy, probably 10 minute prep time, inexpensive, and both adults and kids love it. It makes enough for the 5 of us for dinner plus leftovers. Leftovers are almost even better with this dish! 😉
Ingredients
2 c shredded chicken
1 box spaghetti
2 can cream of chicken soup
1 can original Rotel
1 8oz package sour cream
Large sprinkling of shredded cheese
Tips: use a broasted chicken from the store. Easiest to shred when its warm. Shred then refrigerate if making tomorrow. Shred an overly full 2 cups. There will be just enough left for a couple of legs for kids lunch or to put on a salad, etc.
Instructions: Boil the entire package of spaghetti. Mix with all other ingredients except cheese in a 9×13 casserole pan. Cover in foil. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove the foil and add a full sprinkling of your favorite shredded cheese. Bake for another 10 minutes.
Viola!
One more tip, a sprinkling of crumbled potato chips tops it excellently. Especially day 2 leftovers! Yumm!
Xx,
Jess
Our Christmas Style
Yes, it’s a little late, but I thought that I would share our Christmas decor with you. Inspiration is good anytime, right?Â
So, here are a few of our first tree together! (we did eventually find the perfect green skirt! ) We went with a bit of a “camo” theme with colors this year. That was my nod to Jeremy. We used golds and greens and bronzes on the tree. My photos don’t seem to do it justice, but it was really pretty.Â
See the antler ornaments? Shimmery pinecones helped add sparkle too!
Our rustic bronze star was really pretty too.Â
Camo snowmen…
My “dance in the snow” pillow…
In the dining room we displayed my grandparents’ jewelry tree. Grandpa made this out of Grandma’s old jewelry.Â
Here is a close up of the sparkle, as this may be the last year for this tree. I might be using the jewelry for another very special project. Might, as in I have not made up my mind to tear down this beauty. Hmmm…
The two of us spent our night alone together quietly, so here’s a peak of our simple blue table.
It was basic but cute, and also easy.
And, although there was no snow on Christmas in Iowa, I took these a bit before hand of the first snow at our new house. Come to think of it, I don’t think I have shared a view of the outside of our home, so here is the front…
The side…
And a view towards our barns…
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Thanksgiving 2011
What a wonderful thanksgiving (and birthday!) I had! This was the first year I hosted the festivities at our home, thanks to a lot of help from my mom! It was a great break from work to be home on the long holiday weekend with my family. I wanted to share a few quick photos, especially my quick and fun table settings! …
Jeremy and I…
The family…
I also got to do a lot of hunting and trapping and some playing with cows. Yes, thats right. So, here’s one of me petting the giant bull…
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday!
More Flowers
A few of the seeds we planted in the spring (which I forgot about!) have popped up now! They are tall purple flowers, and oh-so-pretty! They are in the front of our house by the mailbox. Not very exciting out here, but they do brighten the space up a bit.
Â
When I got home last night I was surprised to find flowers and candles on the table and a spaghetti dinner waiting for me! Aw! I had this vintage table cloth (from the engagement party) on the table the other night when we had friends over, so it looks all fresh and summer-y in here!Â
Sweet, huh? And, don’t worry, I do have a few more (and more exciting!) things to show you all this week! I am trying to figure out how to change bitmap pictures into something I am able to upload here. Any ideas? Anyway…stay tuned! 🙂
Tid Bits and Projects
It seems like I havebeen so busy around here… but where is my progress? I have so my projects currently on my plate, and have been working on them, really! But, none are officially completed yet. So, I thought I would just fill you in on some of the tib bits going on around here and a few of the before shots of some current projects.Â
Some awesome flowers have sprouted up in the back yard. I forgot that I had planted them there in the spring! I love lillies, any kind, especially orange ones!
We are also still taking care of Gillian, the salamander. He is still in the rubber tote sitting on the table, grossing everyone out. But, we are searching for a small tank to keep him in. In this picture he is right next to the end of the leaf. Those two black dots are his eyes; he is burrowed in the dirt.
The dogs made a nice mess for me to clean up this morning. They decided that the five minutes they were left alone in the yard was just long enough to dig for moles. Here they are trying to look all innocent and quite muddy! Also check out Marley’s new collar. She thinks she’s tough!
Tony was the sweetest last night and had his amazing spaghetti pizza ready for me when I walked in the door! I even have some for lunch today.Â
And, here are just a few sneak peeks of the projects I am working away on…
Stay tuned…
Taco Night Celebration
We decided to celebrate last night! We are officially setting up shop with our projects and vintage collections. (Actually, for those of you who like Mid Century, there might be a really sweet hutch up for grabs after this weekend;)
So, I made Tony’s favorite, Tacos! It was so pretty with all of the colorful bowls and plates, so I thought I would share. We were so excited about being noted on Apartment Therapy. What a great way to start our shop! Check out our pretty little party.
The tacos and margaritas were very tasty… just try to imagine you were there, and have a toast with us! And, thank you everybody for stopping in and giving your advice and comments- which we LOVE! And check back, because we are off and running with our shop and our new projects!
